The story of the Blue Dwarf begins in Paris more than 170 years ago at the initiative of a family, the Chauvière.
In 1836, Jacques-Edouard Chauvière and his wife Louise launched a toy business that they named Au Nain Bleu, in reference to the famous game of the Yellow Dwarf, a game of cards and chance very popular in the nineteenth century, and the blue color of the first shop. First located at 27 boulevard des Capucines, Au Nain Bleu quickly established itself as a reference in the world of toy.
In 1853, Baron Haussmann and Napoleon III changed his destiny by deciding to build a new opera house near the sign, the district thus becoming one of the most upscale in the capital. At the beginning of the 20th century, a new generation arrived at the helm.
George Fauvet gave a new impetus to the Nain Bleu by establishing himself at the corner of Rue Saint Honoré and Rue Richepanse.
The brand will remain there for nearly 100 years. Today Au Nain Bleu is reborn, with the ambition to perpetuate this tradition of offering children the most beautiful games and toys.
Their collections of Dolls, Soft Toys, Wooden Toys, Birth Baskets, and all their games and toys made in Europe, are developed and selected with care.
